The Theater Hall of Fame Inc. has announced its 2025 inductees: director-mentor Anne Bogart, co-founder of the SITI Company; producer and former National Endowment for the Arts chair Rocco Landesman (The Producers, Jersey Boys); director Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun, Purlie Victorious); director-choreographer Kathleen Marshall (Wonderful Town, Anything Goes); costume designer Paul Tazewell (Hamilton, Death Becomes Her); actor Richard Thomas (The Little Foxes, Our Town); former Broadway Cares Executive Director Tom Viola; and, posthumously, actor Rebecca Luker (The Music Man, Mary Poppins).
The 54th annual Theater Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement in the American Theater induction ceremony will be held November 17 at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre. The evening's host and presenters will be announced at a later date.
The Theater Hall of Fame—founded in 1970 by James M. Nederlander, Earl Blackwell, and Gerard Oestreicher—honors eight theatre professionals annually for lifetime achievement. To be eligible for nomination, the theatre professional must have at least 25 years in the American theatre (with at least five major American stage credits) or be a leader of Off-Broadway or a regional theatre pioneer. The 2024 inductees included actors Elizabeth Ashley, Boyd Gaines, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Donna Murphy; actor and playwright Charles Busch; composer William Finn; playwright David Rabe; and, posthumously, producer Todd Haimes.
The electorate includes members of the Hall of Fame and the American Theatre Critics/Journalists Association. Executive producer is Terry Hodge Taylor.
