Dramatists Play Service, the play licensor under Broadway Licensing Global, has announced the addition of three titles to its catalogue, including Kate DouglasThe Apiary

Set 22 years in the future, The Apiary follows two lab researchers as they hatch a plan to bring back the endangered honey bee population. Second Stage Theater presented the work's world premiere earlier this year.

“We are thrilled to welcome The Apiary into the DPS catalog,” Ted Chapin, chief executive officer of Broadway Licensing Global, said in a statement. “Kate Douglas has an extraordinary voice, and this play, in particular, speaks to universal themes with remarkable beauty and humor. It’s an honor to bring this work to theatres of all sizes.”

Two of Lauren Gunderson's works, anthropology and Artemisia, have also been added to the catalogue. In anthropology, a woman uses artificial intelligence to reconnect with her missing sister. Artemisia tells the story of groundbreaking Renaissance painter Artemisia Gentileschi.

“These new works from Lauren Gunderson embody the kind of dynamic, thought-provoking theatre that DPS is proud to represent,” added Chapin. “With anthropology and Artemisia, Gunderson continues to push the boundaries of contemporary theatre while remaining deeply accessible and moving.”
