New casting has been revealed for the upcoming L.A. return of DRAG: The Musical. As previously announced, show co-creator and RuPaul's Drag Race star Alaska Thunderfuck 5000, known mononymously as Alaska, will star, with performances running March 15-30 at The Bourbon Room in Hollywood.

Set to join Alaska are Joey McIntyre, reprising his performance from the musical's 2022 world premiere; and fellow RuPaul's Drag Race star Manila Luzon. They join previously announced cast members Jujubee, Jan Sport, Lagoona Bloo, Kayden Koshelev, and Nick Laughlin, as well as Broadway favorites Nick Adams and J. Elaine Marcos.

"I think I might be this show’s biggest fan, and I’m psyched to do it again with this amazing cast at my favorite new venue, The Bourbon Room," says McIntyre in a statement. "Let’s go!!"

"Theatre is the perfect place for a drag queen, and I'm so excited to grace DRAG: The Musical with my beauty, wit, and humor,” adds Luzon. "My castmates have already made the show a success, so I'm excited to play with them. Did I mention how excited I am to grace the show with my beauty?"

Producers are hoping to follow up the L.A. encore with an open-ended NYC run in fall 2024. Check out highlights from the 2022 premiere here, and listen to the cast recording here.

Alaska wrote the musical alongside collaborators Tomas Costanza (who also produces) and Ashley Gordon. The show follows two rival drag bars, each fighting for survival while dealing with financial troubles.

DRAG: The Musical is directed and choreographed by Emmy nominee Spencer Liff, with lighting design by Jared A. Sayeg, costume design by Marco Marco, scenic design by Stephen Gifford, and projection design by Aaron Rhyne.

Along with Costanza, Bourbon Room owners Matthew and Hillary Weaver, Scott Prisand, and Janet Billig Rich are producing the 2024 run. Co-producers include Concord Theatricals, Paolo and Jodie Coppola, Aron and Gabe Alves-Tomko, Timothy Boynton, and Alvin Providence along with general management team Kevin Bailey and Matthew Herrmann. Additional executive producers include David Charpentier, Jacob Slane, and Ryan Aceto on behalf of producer Entertainment Group.
