News Jesus Christ Superstar to Return to London's Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park in 2017 The production just won the Evening Standard Award for Best Musical.

Timothy Sheader's production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Jesus Christ Superstar, which was premiered at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park where he is artistic director in 2016, is to return to the same address in 2017, following its victory at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards where it won the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical in a public vote.

It will begin performances August 11 for a run through September 16. The production is designed by Tom Scutt, with choreography by Drew McOnie, musical direction by Tom Deering, lighting design by Lee Curran and sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph.

Casting is still to be announced.
