Today, April 25, is the last day shows can open on Broadway and be eligible for 2024 Tony Awards, and that can only mean one thing: 2024 Tony nominations are just around the corner. And, now we know how we will learn who's up for Broadway's top honors this year.
Broadway favorites Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Renée Elise Goldsberry will announce the 2024 Tony nominations April 30, beginning with a selection of categories on CBS Mornings at 8:30 AM ET. A full nomination list will broadcast live beginning at 9 AM ET via the Tony Awards YouTube channel as well as on Playbill.
After the nominees drop, stay tuned to Playbill for the latest in Tony Awards news, commentary, nominee reactions, and more.
Winners will be named at the 77th Annual Tony Awards, set for June 16 at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater. Stage and screen star Ariana DeBose will be back for the third consecutive year to host the festivities, which will be broadcast worldwide. In the U.S., The Tony Awards: Act One will stream for free via Pluto TV in partnership with CBS. The 77th Annual Tony Awards will follow on CBS and streaming via Paramount+.
The gig will mark DeBose's third consecutive time hosting Broadway's top honors, placing her in an esteemed list of other three-time Tony hosts that includes Julie Andrews, Bud Collyer, Rosie O'Donnell, and James Sauter. DeBose's record will only be bested by four-time hosts Neil Patrick Harris, Hugh Jackman, Nathan Lane, and Robert Preston; and reigning champion five-time host, Angela Lansbury.
