An invitation-only reading of the new musical Like Father, will be presented July 24 in Manhattan.

Megumi Nakamura will direct a cast that features Javier Muñoz (Hamilton), Ari Notartomaso (Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies), Donna Vivino (Wicked), and Ben Davis (New York, New York) with Esteban Suero, Cate Hayman, and Anna Zavelson (The Light in the Piazza).

Featuring a book, music, and lyrics by Jacob Ryan Smith with Caroline Pernick, the horror dramedy concerns a serial killer’s daughter who is trying to live life as a “normal” teenager after her father has been arrested and prosecuted.

The creative team also includes musical supervisor Jason Deboard (Once), associate director Karima Karkori, and stage manager Josh Andrew Wisdom, with additional music arrangements by Nick Kassoy.

Like Father, was a finalist for the Eugene O'Neill New Music Theater Festival and the winner of the inaugural Open Jar Shark Tank.
