Sacramento Music Circus has announced the cast for its summer production of Beauty and the Beast, set to begin performances June 20. In Transit’s James Snyder will star as the Beast alongside Jessica Grové (Sunday in the Park with George) as Belle.
The Disney musical will play through July 2 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The musical features a book by Linda Woolverton, music by Alan Menken, and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.
Joining Grové and Snyder will be The Book of Mormon’s Jared Gertner as Le Fou, David Hibbard (Cats) as Cogsworth, Michael Paternostro (A Chorus Line) as Lumiere, Peter Saide (Cinderella) as Gaston, and Shannon Warne (Camelot) as Mrs. Potts.
Jacquelyn Piro Donovan (Miss Saigon) will play Madame de la Grand Bouche, Gordon Goodman (The Secret Garden) will play Maurice, and Courtney Iventosch (Something Rotten!) will play Babette. Young actors Cooper Miller and Mia Fisher will alternate in the role of Chip.
Beauty and the Beast will be presented by artistic director/COO Scott Klier and artistic consultant Glenn Casale. California Musical Theatre President/CEO is Richard Lewis.
