Broadway artists, producers, and fans gathered together to celebrate the 75th Annual Tony Awards live June 12. The two-part ceremony, which streamed live on Paramount+, included an hour of exclusive programming on the streaming service, followed by a three-hour broadcast on CBS.
A Strange Loop took home one of the night's top prizes, winning Best Musical as well as Best Book of a Musical for Pulitzer-Prize winning composer, lyricist, and book writer Michael R. Jackson. Taking home the trophy for Best Revival of a Musical was Company, re-imagined and gender-swapped by director Marianne Elliot, who also took home the Tony for Best Direction of a Musical. The many touching tributes to the late Stephen Sondheim made the revival's five Tony wins even more bittersweet.

The Tony Awards Pre-Show:
Fan favorites and current Broadway stars Darren Criss and Julianne Hough hosted the first hour of the 2022 Tony Awards on Paramount+, with an incredible opening number (penned by Criss), a performance from the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, and the presentation of eight awards, including Angela Lansbury's Lifetime Achievement honor. This first hour is available on Paramount+ to subscribers.
