Are you planning to enter "A Whole New World" at the New Amsterdam Theatre for the first time, or will you be making a return visit for another magic carpet ride? Either way, prospective theatregoers may be able to purchase tickets to the
long-running Disney hit Aladdin at a discount.
The Tony-nominated musical offers a
Digital Lottery that opens at 9 AM ET the day prior to the desired
performance and closes at 3 PM the day before the performance. Those
interested in the $35 digital lottery tickets can submit an online form
at AladdinTheMusical.com/lottery.
There is a limit of two tickets per person for the Digital Lottery, and the number of tickets available for a particular show is determined at the discretion of the box office. Winners, who will be notified via email, will have 60 minutes to pay via a credit card for the tickets, which are nontransferable. After making the payment and receiving a confirmation, tickets can be picked up at the box office no sooner than 30 minutes prior to the show with a valid photo ID.
The New Amsterdam box office, located at 214 W. 42nd St., is open Monday–Friday 9 AM–8 PM, Saturday 10 AM–8 PM, and Sunday 10 AM–6:30 PM.
Another same-day option is to visit the TKTS Booth in Times Square, which provides same-day discounted tickets to select shows on Broadway. Not every Broadway show is available at TKTS, but Aladdin has made a frequent appearance, with tickets sold at 50 percent off (so usually $79 to $85, depending on the seat location). The TKTS booth hours are generally 3 PM to 8 PM Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; 11 AM to 8 PM Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday; and 11 AM to 7 PM Sunday. Group ticket rates are also available for groups of 10 or more. There are no ticket fees for group purchases, and a flexible payment policy is also available.
Disney Theatrical Sales also hosts events on select nights throughout
the year for guests to come together and enjoy the hit musical based on the animated film of the same name. By booking through a special offer link or as a group,
theatregoers can enjoy added perks at these events. U.S. Armed Forces
Salute on Broadway is scheduled for January 8, 2025; Educator
Appreciation Night will be held January 10; Scouts Day on Broadway
is set for March 1; and Nurses Night Out will be held in spring 2025 on a date to be announced. Click here for more information.
Speaking of special events. Keep a look out for Broadway Week deals, which occur for two weeks every January and September. During Broadway Week, almost every show on the Main Stem will provide two tickets for the price of one, and Aladdin has participated in recent years by providing 2-for-1 tickets. So check back on Playbill.com since we will announce Broadway Week when the deals are live.
Unsure what gift to purchase for a friend or family member? Disney Gift Cards, available in denominations starting at $25 up to $500, can also be used toward Disney on Broadway tickets (The Lion King or Aladdin) via Disney's special concierge service.
Disney on Broadway tickets also have an exchange service. For tickets purchased through Broadway Direct or at the theatre box office, exchanges can be made up until 48 hours before the originally scheduled performance. There is, however, an exchange fee of $10 per ticket for a future performance.
The New Amsterdam Theatre is equipped with one wheelchair accessible restroom on the Orchestra level (house left), as well as wide stalls in the male and female restrooms on the Mezzanine level. A separate wheelchair accessible restroom is also available on the mezzanine and balcony levels. There are designated wheelchair and companion seating in the rear of the Orchestra and Mezzanine sections. These locations are the only places that do not involve steps.

Headsets for sound augmentation are available at the theatre, while on-demand pre-recorded audio description is available for every performance through devices that can be checked out free of charge at a kiosk in the theatre’s main lobby. On-demand closed captions are also available for every performance through I-Caption devices that can be checked out, also for free at the kiosk. In partnership with the Theatre Development Fund, Aladdin offers an open-captioned performance, an ASL interpretation, and a sensory-friendly performance on an annual basis.
The Broadway production of Aladdin celebrated its 10th anniversary at the New Amsterdam Theatre earlier this year. Aladdin opened at the New Amsterdam March 20, 2014, following previews that began February 26. The musical was nominated for five 2014 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. James Monroe Iglehart won the Tony for his performance as the Genie. Globally, there have been 11 productions of Aladdin on four continents.
The stage production, which expands the 90-minute film into a two-act
format, has music by Alan Menken, lyrics by the late Howard Ashman and
Tim Rice, and a book and additional lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Casey Nicholaw
directs and choreographs.
