The Off-Broadway premiere of House of McQueen, written by Darrah Cloud and directed by Sam Helfrich, has extended its limited engagement in the new theatrical venue The Mansion at Hudson Yards.

Performances of the new play chronicling the life of designer Lee Alexander McQueen will now continue through November 2. The production has also announced that Liam Tamne will join the company as the late designer following the conclusion of Bridgerton star Luke Newton’s contract September 28. Tamne's first performance is scheduled for October 2.

Tamne has been seen in the West End as Ramses in The Prince of Egypt, Ted Hinton in Bonnie & Clyde, Giuseppe Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza (also LA Opera), Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Show, Enjolras in Les Misérables, and Heathcliff in the National Theatre's Wuthering Heights, also marking his New York debut with the show's transfer to St. Ann's Warehouse.

“Liam is a fearless performer, and we can’t wait to see him embody the role of Lee McQueen in powerful new ways,” says executive producer Rick Lazes in a statement. "We are profoundly grateful to Luke Newton for his contribution to the launch of the play and excited to announce this highly requested extension of the project.”

“I’m really looking forward to stepping into the mind and creative essence of Lee McQueen, while also exploring the story of his life and the poignant subjects it touches on,” adds Tamne. “It’s thrilling to be part of a project that has received such a positive response, and I’m excited to join the incredible cast and crew to carry forward the momentum they’ve built.”

The remainder of the company will continue through the new extension date, including Side Show Tony nominee Emily Skinner as Joyce McQueen, Catherine LeFrere (HAPPY!), Cody Braverman (Leopoldstadt), Fady Demian (The Terminal List), Matthew Eby (American Horror Story), Joe Joseph (The Band’s Visit), Denis Lambert (Tammy Faye), Margaret Odette (Sex/Life), Spencer Petro (The Bisley Boy), Jonina Thorsteinsdottir (Survival of the Thickest), Sam Dash (Quantico), James Evans (The Mega-Brands That Built America), Krystal Riggs (Richard II), and Chris Thorn (Death of a Salesman).

House of McQueen takes audiences through Lee’s life, from his early days as an emerging designer, to later building one of the most important fashion houses in the world, and ultimately his tragic passing. The famed fashion designer died of suicide in 2010 at the age of 40.

Intimate relationships with key figures in the designer's life—including mentor Isabella Below—are explored utilizing a highly produced landscape with floor-to-ceiling LED panels designed to shift environments.

The production also has scenic design by Jason Ardizzone-West, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Robert Wierzel, sound design by G Clausen, video and projection design by Brad Peterson, hair, wig, and makeup design by Tommy Kurzman, choreography by Benjamin Freedman, dialect coaching by Deborah Hecht, intimacy coaching by NJ Agwuna, and casting by Jamibeth Margolis.

Jason Kaiser is the production stage manager with production management by Aurora Productions and general management by Form Theatricals, Reed Ridgley, and Anthony Francavilla.

Skinner's numerous Broadway credits also include Suffs, The Cher Show, Prince of Broadway, Jekyll & Hyde, The Full Monty, Dinner at Eight, James Joyce's The Dead, Billy Elliot, and New York, New York.

House of McQueen is produced by Rick Lazes. Gary James McQueen is the creative director.

It should also be noted that The Mansion is home to an exhibition of archival McQueen pieces, each preserved in private collections throughout the years and many on display for the first time. Curated by Gill Linton, the exhibit lives in a separate room adjacent to the main theatre and features 30 pieces ranging from 1995-2010. Ticket holders can view the exhibit prior to the performance or during intermission at no additional cost.
