Costume designer Paul Tazewell takes us through his creative process to achieve Hamilton’s final look. For the hip hop take on the birth of America, Tazewell juxtaposed image research of 18th century clothing with contemporary fashion and street clothing. Everything clicked after early staged readings, and with some help from the Public Theater’s extensive costume stock.
