As we draw closer to Emmy Awards season, various productions will begin a push for nominations. Elements from NBC's Hairspray Live! will be on display at the Paley Center from April 22 through May 21. The free exhibit in Los Angeles will take visitors inside the world of the NBC/Universal Television musical event.
You Can't Stop the Beat: the Art & Artistry of Hairspray Live! will offer a closer look at some of the set pieces and props from Tony and Emmy–Award winning production designer Derek McLane. Also included in the exhibit will be some of the vibrant costumes used in the live telecast. Exclusive photography will be on display along with behind-the-scenes video segments.
In addition to the artwork and props, Hairspray Live! will be screened in the John H. Mitchell Theater every Sunday for the duration of the exhibit. Audiences can take an up-close and personal tour of what it took to make the live event, based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, happen.
