MSG Entertainment and the New York Philharmonic have announced the orchestra's debut performance at Radio City Music Hall. The Philharmonic's Artistic Director Designate Gustavo Dudamel will conduct the concert, which will be the first to utilize the venue's new Sphere Immersive Sound system. The concert will take place Sunday, January 25.

The program will feature a range of classic and modern works. Kicking off with Leonard Bernstein's Wonderful Town Overture, and concluding with George Gershwin's An American in Paris, the concert will also include waltzes and polkas by Tchaikovsky, Johann Strauss II, and Josef Strauss, an excerpt from Bernard Herrmann's Taxi Driver film score, and contemporary works by Julia Adolphe and Jessie Montgomery.

The Sphere Immersive Sound system uses 3D audio beamforming and wave field synthesis technology to deliver clear and consistent audio to each seat in the house. The system includes over 7,000 individually amplified loudspeaker drivers, allowing artists and engineers the ability to precisely calculate and design spatialized audio soundscapes.
