"Guffman" Stars in Talks to Reunite for Christopher Guest's "Mascots" | Playbill

News "Guffman" Stars in Talks to Reunite for Christopher Guest's "Mascots" Actors from Christopher Guest's theatre parody "Waiting for Guffman," along with "For Your Consideration," "A Mighty Wind" and "Best in Show" are currently in negotiations to be part of his Netflix serious "Mascots," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Parker Posey, John Michael Higgins, Jennifer Coolidge, Bob Balaban and Jane Lynch are all currently in talks to be part of the series, which concerns "the world of sports mascots." Chris O'Dowd may also be part of the series, which is scheduled to begin filming in Los Angeles this November. Guest regulars Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara, however, will not be part of "Mascots," likely due to a time conflict with their Canadian TV series "Schitt's Creek."

A poster for "Mascots" reads: "The 8th World Mascot Association Championships, where a group of 'unusual' men and women, with big heads and furry suits, compete to win the prestigious gold fluffy award and be crowned best mascot in the world." No release date was announced.
