Industry News Grace Aki's To Free a Mockingbird Plays 1-Night-Only Benefit Performance at SoHo Playhouse July 22

The performance is raising funds for the solo play's run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August.

Grace Aki's solo play To Free a Mockingbird plays a one-night-only benefit performance at SoHo Playhouse July 22 at 7 PM. The performance will raise funds for the play's run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August. 

To Free a Mockingbird combines storytelling and stand-up to tell the story of a family's journey from Japan through the American South. The play will make its international debut in Edinburgh August 5-24 at The Royal Scots Club. 

Aki won Best Actor at SheNYC for the piece, which also won the Audience Choice award at ATL Fringe in 2021, and was voted a Theater Best Bets by ARTS ATL.
