Mikaela Bennett, the Juilliard grad who made her professional stage debut this past spring as Penelope in the Encores! concert staging of the musical The Golden Apple, is set for her first appearance at Feinstein’s/54 Below cabaret August 18.

Accompanied by Tony-nominated composer and actor Jeff Blumenkrantz, Bennett will sing a program of musical theatre songs and jazz standards, including Kern & Hammerstein’s “Bill,” Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “If I Loved You,” Michael John LaChiusa’s “Married Love,” and Arlen & Harburg’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

Bennett is backed by a jazz trio consisting of David Wong (bass), Jeb Patton (piano), and Aaron Kimmel (drums). Blumenkrantz, who earned his Tony nomination as co-composer of the score to the 2003 musical Urban Cowboy, will play several of his original compositions, including “I Won't Mind,” with Bennett on vocals. Blumenkrantz has appeared as an actor in several Broadway musicals, most recently Bright Star. He played Mr. Scylla in the Encores! The Golden Apple alongside Bennett.

Their concert will take place at 11:30 PM at the cabaret, located at 254 West 54th Street below Studio 54 in Manhattan. There is a $15–$35 cover charge and $20 food and beverage minimum. Tickets can be ordered at 54Below.com. Tickets on the day of performance after 4 PM are available only by calling (646) 476-3551.
