The awards honor Broadway and Off-Broadway productions and performances, with the ceremony culminating in the presentation of the Distinguished Performance Award, which goes to one artist a year and can only be won once in an artist’s lifetime. As previously reported, the award went to Network star Bryan Cranston; with four Broadway productions recognized in the additional competitive categories (Hadestown; Kiss Me, Kate; The Ferryman; and The Waverly Gallery).
