The 6:30 PM event recognizes positive and inclusive depictions of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in the media. Martin (upcoming Broadway Evita revival) is begin presented with the Vito Russo Award and Russell Simmons with the Excellence in Media Award.
Two-time Tony Award nominee Patrick Wilson (Oklahoma!, "Angels in America") and Wilson Cruz (Rent) are among the presenters. Special guests include Tina Fey, the Fabulous Beekman Boys, Jane Velez-Mitchell and DJ Tracy Young. Cirque du Soleil is set to perform.
As previously reported, Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked and Promises, Promises) will be honored April 10 at the Los Angeles GLAAD Media Awards with the Vanguard Award at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel.
