Claire Mack's Girls Will Be Girls, which had announced an Off-Broadway premiere at The Pershing Square Signature Center, has canceled that planned run. No reason for the cancellation—which comes just over a week after the production was first announced and days before its scheduled July 17 first preview—was given. Ticket buyers will receive refunds from their point of purchase.
Described in press notes as a "hilarious, evil feminist play," the work follows three college girls reclaiming their virginity over one wild night of booze and a speedo-clad boy. Mack herself was to star as Kay, with Luna Sofia Miranda as Scar, Charlie B. Foster as JJ, and Chantae Miller as Mads. The announced company had also included understudies Declan Collins and Leah Getz.
Atticus Orsborn was directing the production, which was to feature scenic and prop design by Riw Rakkulchon, costume design by Kindall Almond, lighting design by Yichen Zhou, and sound design by Florian Staab. Michael Blagys of Brine Media was handling production management, with LDK Productions serving as general managers.
