Gavin Creel will take to the stage for a concert at The Kennedy Center August 31. The intimate evening will feature the Tony winner performing songs from Broadway shows and pop hits, along with songs from Creel's new theatrical concert Walk On Through. The new work is poised to make an Off-Broadway world premiere with Creel in the lead later this year via MCC Theater.
Creel will be joined onstage by musicians Madeline Benson and Chris Peters. The evening will be held in the D.C. venue’s Terrace Theatre.
The Hello, Dolly! Tony winner most recently appeared onstage at the Kennedy Center in the touring production of the 2022 Broadway revival of Into the Woods.
Consisting of four distinct programs dedicated to supporting early career playwrights, the festival has formalized Second Stage Theater’s artistic pipeline.
The musical, a reinvention of Tim Burton’s cult classic film Edward Scissorhands, uses the pop music of Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Alanis Morissette, and more.
