Casting has been announced for the U.K. premiere of Frank Wildhorn, Jack Murphy and Gregory Boyd's 2011 Broadway musical Wonderland, which will begin performances at Edinburgh Playhouse January 20, 2017, for a run to January 28, then tour nationally through August.

Wendi Peters, best known for TV's Coronation Street, and Dave Willetts, who took over from Michael Crawford in the original West End premiere of The Phantom of the Opera, will star as the Queen of Hearts and White Rabbit, respectively, in this musical version of the Alice in Wonderland story. Kerry Ellis, who has appeared in both the West End and on Broadway as Elphaba in Wicked, will guest star at selected venues during the tour, around her concert commitments.

Ellis is scheduled to appear as Alice in the runs at Edinburgh, Sunderland, Birmingham, Bromley, Woking, Manchester, Wimbledon, Bristol, Brighton, Liverpool, Stoke and Milton Keynes.

Completing the principal cast are Stephen Webb, Kayi Ushe, Dominic Owen, Ben Kerr and Carolyn Maitland. They are joined by an ensemble comprising Sharif Afifi, Toyan Thomas Browne, Divine Cresswell, Jessica Croll, Francesca Lara Gordon, Benjamin McMillan, Bree Smith, Benjamin Yates and swings Lewis Easter and Collette Guitart.

Produced by Neil Eckersley, Wonderland has music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Jack Murphy, book by Murphy and Gregory Boyd with U.K. adaptation by Ava Eldred. It is directed by Lotte Wakeham, with musical supervision by Jason Howland, choreography by Lucie Pankhurst, set design by Andrew Riley, costume design by Grace Smart and lighting design by Nick Richings.
