Full casting and creative team information has been revealed for the Ford's Theatre production of Little Shop of Horrors. The hit horror-comedy by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman will begin performances at the D.C. venue March 15 for a run scheduled through May 18.
Kevin S. McAllister will direct the cult favorite, which follows Seymour Krelborn, in love with his co-worker Audrey; and the man-eating plant that offers to make all his dreams come true.
The cast will include Derrick D. Truby, Jr. as Seymour, Chani Wereley as Audrey, Kaiyla Gross as Ronnette, Joe Mallon as Orin, Lawrence Redmond as Mr. Mushnik, Nia Savoy-Dock as Chiffon, Tobias A. Young as Audrey II, and Kanysha Williams as Crystal. Understudies include Scott Ward Abernethy, Tori Gomez, Christopher Mueller, and Theodore Sapp. Audrey II will be puppeted by Jay Frisby and Ryan Sellers.
The production will feature choreography by Ashleigh King, music direction by William Yanesh, scenic design by Paige Hathaway, costume design by Alejo Vietti, and production stage management by Craig A. Horness.
A handful of accessible performances will be offered, including audio-described performances on April 9 and April 27, an ASL-interpreted performance on April 11, and a sensory-friendly performance on May 4.
