Douglas Carter Beane (The Nance)'s tribute to early 20th century writer, poet, and humorist Dorothy Parker, Finding Dorothy Parker, will return to the Laurie Beechman Theatre in NYC for an encore run January 15-22, 2026. Beane directs and has compiled the text of the work, all Parker's own words.
And back to read those words will be Broadway favorites Julie Halston (Tootsie), Ann Harada (Avenue Q), Jackie Hoffman (The Addams Family), and Anika Larsen (Beautiful). All four starred in the work's previous stint at the Beechman last September.
The performance will also feature music by Alistair Wroe (Prince Faggot), choreography by Jeffrey Guggliotti, and music direction by Brad Simmons.
Perhaps most infamous for her pithy wisecracks, Parker was one of the most prominent writers of the '20s through to the mid-century, writing for such outlets as The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Life, and The Saturday Evening Post, along with publishing compendiums of short stories, poems, and reviews.
“I have always wanted to do an evening of Dorothy Parker with four of Broadway’s funniest ladies in the style of Don Juan in Hell,” said Beane in an earlier statement. “Well we’re not in Hell now. We’re in Hell's Kitchen. So hello, Vagina Monologues and Love, Loss and What I Wore... Come meet your sassy sister!”
