Comic actor Jordan Peele (MADtv) and Dr. Marcia Dunn have joined the board of directors of the New York-based Drama Desk Award-winning TADA! Youth Theater.
Peele, co-star and co-creator of the Comedy Central sketch series Key & Peele, is an Emmy and Peabody Award winner and a TADA! alumnus. Since ending Key & Peele in 2015, Peele has been a recurring character on ABC’s Life in Pieces, the FX series Fargo, Bob’s Burgers, and Adult Swim’s Children’s Hospital. He hosted TADA!’s 30th Anniversary Celebration in May 2016 and launched his first movie as a writer, Keanu. Peele is teaming with Tracy Morgan in an FX comedy series. He has set a goal of his membership: to mentor Resident Youth Ensemble Members interested in improv comedy.
Dunn, an ophthalmologist, has been involved with TADA! since her daughter joined the Resident Youth Ensemble. She has been in practice for more than 20 years and is affiliated with multiple hospitals including Mount Sinai. Dunn sits on the trustee board at Parrish Museum of Art and Roundabout Theatre Company, and is on the Whitney Museum of Photography’s Committee.
The pair will join other TADA! Board of Directors: Chalmers Browne (President), Elana Weinstein (Vice President), Stephen T. Rodd (Treasurer), Laura Esposito (Secretary), Brian Burchfield, Marcia Dunn, Adam Houhoulis, Deepak Nagpal, Alina Patton, Jordan Peele, Stephanie Tighe, Julie Turaj, Rohit Verma, and Darcy Volpe.
Other notable TADA! alumni include Kerry Washington (actor), Ricki Lake (actor), Josh Peck (actor), Sasha Allen (singer), AJR Brothers (band), Ricardo Zayas (actor/dancer in Hamilton), and Lacie Bonanni (dresser at Something Rotten!).
