Off-Broadway News Eve Ensler’s In the Body of the World Opens Off-Broadway The Tony winner behind The Vagina Monologues brings her acclaimed 2013 memoir to the stage.

Best-selling author and Tony-winning performer Eve Ensler is back onstage with an adaptation of her acclaimed 2013 memoir In the Body of the World, now in performances at Manhattan Theatre Club’s New York City Center – Stage I. The monologue play, written and performed by Ensler (The Vagina Monologues), details her experiences of working with women in the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo and being diagnosed with uterine cancer.

In the Body of the World is directed by Tony-winning director Diane Paulus, who helmed the world premiere at American Repertory Theater. The Off-Broadway engagement, which officially opens February 6 ,is a co-production between A.R.T and MTC.

Performances began January 16. A series of post-show discussions are scheduled to follow select performances of In The Body of The World. Special guest speakers include Tony winner Cynthia Nixon, Christine “Mama C” Schuler Deschryver (Director of City of Joy and V-Day Congo), Mayo Clinic Oncologists, Valisia LeKae (Motown The Musical), and more.
