The Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) will present selections of work by the 2024-2025 Class of Musical Theater and Playwriting Fellows October 10 at Open Jar Studios.
David Alpert will direct the musical theatre presentations, which begin at 2 PM; and Laurie Woolery is directing the playwriting offerings, beginning at 4:30 PM.
This will be the cap-off event for this class of fellows, completing their year-long intensive. The 2024-2025 class of Playwriting fellows includes Jen Diamond, Matthew Jellison, Yilong Liu, Ro Reddick, and Phillip Christian Smith; and the 2024-2025 class of Musical Theatre Writing fellows includes Arianna Afsar, Emma Ashford, Sophie Boyce, Fouad Dakwar, Jaime Lozano, and Veronica Mansour.
They will present selections from larger works, including Afsar's That Girl, Ashford's Miss America, Boyce and Mansour's The Dark Lady, Dakwar's Fouad of Nazareth, Lozano's Roja, Diamond's Pageant Play, Jellison's A Re-Reading of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy By The Playwright and His Father Nightly Before Bed, Liu's We Borrowed Brokenness, Reddick's UNLINED ● HARDCOVER ● LAYFLAT, and Smith's God Save the Queen.
