An industry reading of Kevin Ray Johnson's A (Funny) Imagination!, a one-act based on the characters from the animated Nickelodeon series Doug, will be presented December 4 at 7:30 PM in The Dramatists Guild's Mary Rodgers Room.

Leading the reading of the unauthorized parody will be Jonah McKinley (The Unpredictable Times) as Dee, Kate Mobley-Tarpley as Tricia, Joshua Balan (Twelfth Night at The Flea Theater) as EmVee, Hugh M. Jones III (In the Heights Film) as Rog, Violet Gautreau as Dee's Sister, Hanna Hopper as Constance, Hannah Heil, and Ben Hoermann.

Playwright Johnson will also direct with Rachael Henry Johnson as the stage manager.

​A (Funny) Imagination! follows Dee as he reunites with Tricia and EmVee a decade after their high school graduation to discuss unresolved issues that altered their relationship.

Johnson's other plays include The Unpredictable Times, Una Noche En Tejas—When Beyonce Met Selena!, and Birdie and Tim.
