A staged reading of Kevin Ray Johnson's new play Birdie & Tim will be presented September 16 in Manhattan.
S. Lee Lewis will direct a cast that includes Veronica Kuehn (Mamma Mia!) and Cody Davis (Cinderella) as Birdie and Tim, respectively, with Brian Charles Rooney (The Threepenny Opera) as Tim’s Friend, and 13-year-old Addison Ruscoe (Asolo Repertory Theatre’s Shakespeare in Love) as The Kid.
Rounding out the cast: Michael Coale Grey, John Gibson, and Matt Welsh with Leah Henry as the scene reader.
The one-act follows Birdie and Tim, who meet in New York City one night at a house party. During their short time together they discover that love at first sight doesn’t stop the responsibilities that come your way.
Johnson is also the author of The Unpredictable Times.
