Off-Broadway News David Nellist Will Star in Protest Song at La MaMa

The Sherlock star will help give Tim Price's solo play a U.S. debut.

Welsh playwright Tim Price (Nye)'s solo play Protest Song will make a U.S. premiere Off-Broadway at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, with performances running December 4-21. Starring will be David Nellist (Sherlock). Sarah Bedi is directing.

The work follows a homeless man who finds himself swept into the midst of the Occupy London movement, even though he barely understands it. The play made its world premiere at London's National in 2013.

Beaver Dam Productions is presenting the upcoming bow, which will feature sound design by Hidenori Nakajo and lighting design by Mitchell Fenton. Lou Mirabal is producing, and Adrienne Kapstein will serve as associate director.
