Broadway's Christy Altomare has gotten her real-life happily ever after. The Anastasia star gushed about her recent engagement on Instagram, sharing their love story with her 126K followers.
Altomare met her now-fiancé, Chris Crook, back in middle school. In 2000, they performed together in a production of Big the Musical. The singer described Crook as her "crush." She spilled the details in a three-minute Instagram video, accompanied with images and clips of their relationship.
While Altomare and Crook eventually fell out of contact, they were reunited 20 years later at Altomare's 2021 solo concert. She told People Magazine that their story "sounds like a Hallmark movie" while detailing their cutesy stage door reunion at Pennsylvania's Bucks County Playhouse. The end of her Instagram video shows the two getting engaged outside of the same theatre.
Hadestown actor Eva Noblezada commented on the announcement, telling Altomare, "Congratulations!"
Susan Egan, known for originating the role of Belle in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast also congratulated Altomare, writing, "So thrilled for both of you!"
Altomare has a busy 2022 ahead of her. While planning her upcoming nuptials, the actor will also be starring in Paper Mill's The Wanderer alongside Mike Wartella and Joey McIntyre.
