Take a look above at the first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s The Post, detailing the unlikely partnership between The Washington Post's Katharine Graham (the first female publisher of a major American newspaper) and editor Ben Bradlee.
The Post, about the 1971 Pentagon Papers, arrives December 22 and casts Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks as Graham and Bradlee. The film follows the two as they race to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents.
The ensemble cast also includes Tony winner Jessie Mueller in her feature film debut, Tony and Emmy nominee Carrie Coon, Sarah Paulson, Tony winner Tracy Letts, Alison Brie, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Bob Odenkirk, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford, and Zach Woods.
Director Spielberg produces along with Amy Pascal and Kristie Macosko Krieger. The script was written by Liz Hannah and Josh Singer.
