Robert Cuccioli and Glory Crampton, stars of the York Theatre Company production of Rothschild & Sons, will reunite July 25 to celebrate the official release of the cast recording. Lyricist Sheldon Harnick, book writer Sherman Yellen and director Jeffrey B. Moss will also be at the event at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter’s at 6 PM.
Produced by John Yap for JAY Records, the album features the original cast of the Off-Broadway production. Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick and Sherman Yellen’s Rothschild & Sons played an extended run from October 6-November 8, 2015. Harnick told Playbill in June that producers were in talks to revive the show Off-Broadway in spring/winter 2017 though no official announcement has been made.

The show is based on the Tony-nominated The Rothschilds, about a dynasty of German-Jewish financiers, which opened on Broadway in 1970.
Rothschild & Sons, a more intimate, one-act retelling, features several songs not included in the original, with new lyrics by Harnick. Composer Bock passed away in 2010. A story of human rights and triumph, the new work focuses on the relationships between the patriarch of the family, Mayer Rothschild, played by Cuccioli, his wife Gutele, played by Crampton, and their five sons, living as Jews in a German ghetto.
The production featured music supervision and orchestrations by Joseph Church, music direction by Jeffrey Klitz and choreography by Denis Jones. The complete cast included Peter Cormican, Jonathan Hadley, David Bryant Johnson, Christine LaDuca, Jamie LaVerdiere, Nicholas Mongiardo-Cooper, Mark Pinter, Curtis Wiley, and Christopher M. Williams.
Admission to the cast album launch is free. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the York Theatre Company Box office at (212) 935-5820, online at yorktheatre.org, or in person at the box office at the York Theatre at Saint Peter’s (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
