Tony-nominated stage favorite Carolee Carmello will take on the ultimate stage mother this summer, starring as Rose in Broadway at Music Circus’ Gypsy in Sacramento, California.

The production, directed by Glenn Casale, will run July 24–29. Joining Carmello will be Austen Danielle Bohmer as Louise and David Hess as Herbie.

Carmello, who has earned Tony Award nominations for her performances in Parade, Lestat, and Scandalous, recently starred as Mrs. Lovett in Off-Broadway's Sweeney Todd.

The 2018 Music Circus season kicks off June 12–17 with Singin’ in the Rain, directed and choreographed by Linda Goodrich. Noah Racey will star as Don Lockwood, with Newsies and Wicked alum Kara Lindsay as Kathy Selden and Matt Loehr (The Book of Mormon) as Cosmo Brown.

Additional season highlights include Disney’s Newsies, featuring two alums from the touring and Broadway productions: Joey Barreiro as Jack Kelly and Laurie Veldheer as Katherine (running July 10–15), Mamma Mia! with Broadway alums Michelle Dawson, Michael Campayno, and Eric Kunze (August 7–12), and Jared Gertner, Sarah E. Litzsinger, and Ken Page in Little Shop of Horrors (August 21–26).
