HITCity: Temptations Edition, an immersive concert experience celebrating 60 years of Motown, will be presented April 26 at the Queens Theatre in Queens, New York.

The 3 PM performance will feature actors who have all performed in either the Broadway or national touring production of Ain't Too Proud—The Life and Times of The Temptations. Representing the Temptations will be Jalen Harris (The Lion King, Ain’t Too Proud), Harrell Holmes Jr. (Ain’t Too Proud tour), Elijah Ahmad Lewis (Ain’t Too Proud, Motown The Musical), James Harkness (Ain’t Too Proud; Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), and Marcus Paul James (Ain't Too Proud, Rent, In the Heights). Representing The Supremes will be Candice Woods (Ain’t Too Proud, Catch Me If You Can), Nasia Thomas (Caroline, or Change; Ain’t Too Proud), and Taylor Symone Jackson (Ain’t Too Proud, A Soulful Christmas).

Edgar Godineaux (Ain’t Too Proud) will direct and choreograph the performance with musical arrangements and supervision by Kenny Seymour (Ain’t Too Proud), lighting design by Mitchell Fenton (Every Brilliant Thing), set and projection design by Lisa Renkel (Tina), costume design by Niiamar Felder (The Wiz), and associate direction and choreography by Kaeli Carr.

HITCity band members include Clayton Craddock, Keith Robinson, George Farmer, Roger Squitero, Seth Farber, Jonathan Smith, Taurus Lovely, and Kelly Nitz. Additional rotating cast members are Treston Henderson, Morgan McGhee, Brittny Smith, and Amber Mariah.

Producer Elliott Cornelious (The Who’s Tommy, Spamalot) said in a statement, “These singers first connected while performing in most of Broadway’s Motown shows over the past two decades, forming bonds that have lasted well beyond the stage. Many of these artists have known each other for over 20 years, and there’s something truly special about getting to do what you love—at the highest level—with people you deeply respect and care about.”

This concert is being presented by Queens Culture & Arts Network, a division of the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens.

HITCity: Temptations Edition will tour the U.S. later this year with appearances at the Oklahoma Falls Arts Institute June 19 in Oklahoma City; and the International Black Theatre Festival July 27-31 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. For additional dates, visit HitCityconcert.com.
