Film & TV News Broadway’s Lilla Crawford and Taylor Louderman Discuss New Nickelodeon Series, Sunny Day Annie’s red-headed orphan and Mean Girls’ Regina George provide voiceovers for the new animated series.

Broadway talents Lilla Crawford (Annie) and Taylor Louderman (Kinky Boots) appeared on PIX11 in New York to talk about Sunny Day, their animated children’s series for Nickelodeon, which debuted August 21.

Sunny Day unites Crawford and Louderman with actor Elan Luz Rivera to play three high-power gals who run a salon and “solve the day’s problems with our hair tools and teamwork.” The trio have been recording the series for about a year-and-a-half prior to its launch.

In the series, Crawford, who also played Little Red in the film version of Into the Woods, plays title character Sunny. Louderman, who voices Blair in the series, just wrapped her run in Broadway’s Kinky Boots and next takes on the role of Queen Bee Regina George in the Washington, D.C. production of Mean Girls The Musical. Rivera plays Rox and has also appeared on Broadway in Paul Simon’s musical The Capeman in 1996 and later in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

Sunny Day airs weekdays at 10 AM ET on Nickelodeon.
