Last seen as Ilse in the 2015 revival of Spring Awakening, singing actress Krysta Rodriguez has landed a guest-star spot on Season 3 of TVLand’s Younger.
Season 3 features a plotline where a young Silicon Valley millionaire, Bryce Reiger, is looking to invest in Empirical Publishing, where main character Liza (played by Tony winner Sutton Foster) works. Rodriguez, TVLine reports, will play Reiger’s publicist, Kim, in the October 12 episode.
Rodriguez made the cross over from stage to screen in NBC’s industry-themed Smash. She has also appeared in Gossip Girl, Inside Amy Schumer, The Mysteries of Laura and Chasing Life. She will also be a series regular on the upcoming mid-season program Trial & Error.
Younger’s third season premieres September 28. Liza is a 40-year-old mom who leads a double life when she decides to pretend she’s 26 in order to get a job in the publishing world. Created by Darren Starr (Sex and the City), the show also stars theatre favorite Miriam Shor (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) as well as Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Nico Tortorella, Peter Hermann and Molly Bernard.
The show has previously featured other guest stars from the theatre world, including Michael Urie, Jane Krakowski, Matthew Morrison, Martha Plimpton, Geneva Carr, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Donna Lynne Champlin, Camryn Manheim and Ana Gesteyer. Tony nominee Jennifer Simard will also reportedly appear on an upcoming episode.
