Following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Broadway's Future Songbook Series—produced, directed, and hosted by John Znidarsic—will return to in-person performances February 28 at 6 PM in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

The free evening will spotlight songs from Jermaine Rowe’s Children From the Blue Mountain, which is set in the magical folk underworld of Jamaica and tells the story of Akan folk creature Anansi, who meets Jack Mandora within the hills of the Blue Mountains.

Interpreting Rowe's songs will be Gisela Adisa (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Oneika Phillips (Black No More), Teisha Duncan (The Lion Ling), and Ricardo Barrett. Musical director Jerome Morris will be joined by Dom Jones on bass, Yoshihiro Takemasa on percussion, Mark Bell on drums, and Gypsy on guitar.

Rowe has been seen on Broadway in The Lion King and Fela!, while his other works include Mom’s Eulogy, Solitary, and Legend of the Rolling Calf.
