Beetlejuice, freshly resurrected at Broadway's Marriott Marquis Theatre, has partnered with New Goth City (in association with InJoy Entertainment) to celebrate World Goth Day May 22.
The 3 PM matinee will be bookended by a bevy of pre-show pageantry and a post-show procession throughout the theatre district plus a celebratory gathering. Fans are encouraged to dress the part; arrive early to the theatre for a photo opportunity at the Beetlejuice fan art mural before the show.
Audiences returned to the Netherworld with the Ghost-with-the-Most April 8. Tony nominee Alex Brightman returned with the production to play the title poltergeist, now opposite Elizabeth Teeter as Lydia Deetz. Based on the Tim Burton film about unusual teenager Lydia as she deals with loss and a deal with a demon gone wrong, Beetlejuice originally opened April 25, 2019, at the Winter Garden Theatre.
The cast also features Kerry Butler, David Josefsberg, Adam Dannheisser, Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer, Kelvin Moon Loh, Danny Rutigliano, and Dana Steingold.
Alex Timbers directs the musical, which features an original score by Tony nominee Eddie Perfect and a book by Tony nominees Scott Brown and Anthony King.
