BroadwayCon Launches Podcast With Broadway Stars and Insiders | Playbill

News BroadwayCon Launches Podcast With Broadway Stars and Insiders The podcast series, hosted by Patrick Hinds, takes listeners behind the scenes and onstage with Broadway insiders.

BroadwayCon attendees and theatre fans can keep the excitement going all year long thanks to a new podcast series hosted by Patrick Hinds, creator and host of Theater People Podcast.

Launched August 17, the free podcast features conversations with the casts and creatives of Broadway's greatest hits (and, sometimes, misses!) and discussions featuring the industry’s top producers and designers.

“We saw an opportunity to create a Broadway-themed podcast that didn't already exist: A show that engages big Broadway stars and also the people who make probably magic happen offstage,” Hinds told Playbill.com. “One of the things I loved about BroadwayCon when I attended last year was the panel discussions—that was my greatest inspiration. This podcast is the opportunity for us to have these types of conversations throughout the year. It's a great opportunity to bring actors and other creative types together to discuss how each other’s work informs the other’s. We certainly hope that some of the panel conversations we have on the podcast will turn into actual panels at BroadwayCon.”

Four episodes are now available on iTunes, including interviews with BroadwayCon mainstage director David Alpert and Broadway actress Lesli Margherita; Tony Award nominee Carmen Cusack and theatre historian Jennifer Ashley Tepper; and the August 31 episode, which profiles the theatre’s new media insiders: Tyler Mount, Mo Brady and Matt Rodin (bonus interviews on the episode include Something Rotten! stars Will Chase and Rob McClure).

Check Playbill.com each week for the latest information on upcoming guests, including Laura Benanti, Beth Malone, Lena Hall, Hamilton set designer David Korins, Newsies costume & set designer Tobin Ost and Falsettos and New Brain composer-lyricist William Finn.
