On August 28, 15 choreographers will present new work as part of Leg Up On Life Showcase!, benefiting The Trevor Project.

Founded in 1998, The Trevor Project is the nation’s leading organization to provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth. Daniel Gold, the event’s organizer, wanted to create a platform for up-and-coming choreographers of a variety of styles while raising money and awareness for the cause.

The Monday evening program features the work of 15 choreographers, including Stephanie Bissonnette (Mean Girls), Diana Brooks, Victoria Casillo, Veronica Cheeseboro, Patricia Crumrine, Ashlé Dawson (So You Think You Can Dance), Cooper Flanagan, Karla Garcia (Hamilton, So You Think You Can Dance), Daniel Gold (Beauty and the Beast national tour), Angélique Kaba, Vivake Khamsingsavath, Karen Ng, Kristen Brooks Sandler (Joseph….Dreamcoat, Elf national tours), Brad Trump (Cats national tour), and Chaz Wolcott (Cats, Newsies national tours).

Performers include Courtney Liu (The Phantom of the Opera), Chris Medlin (Mean Girls), Joseph Fierberg (Beauty and the Beast, Elf national tours), Kyle White (Wizard of Oz national tour), and more.

Leg Up On Life Showcase! takes place at 4 PM and 8 PM at Dixon Place in New York City. Tickets are $10 in advance.
