Based on CNN chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta's upcoming novel, "Monday Mornings," the project follows the lives of five surgeons. Bill D'Elia will direct.
Molina will play Dr. Harding Hooten, the chief of surgery at Chelsea General. Irwin has been cast as Dr. Buck Tierney, a smug doctor who takes himself very seriously. The cast also includes Jamie Bamber and Jennifer Finnigan.
Irwin won the Tony Award in 2005 for his performance in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? He was nominated for his work on Largely New York and was also seen on Broadway in Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Fool Moon, Waiting for Godot and Bye Bye Birdie, among others.
Molina is a three-time Tony nominee for his performances in Art, Red and Fiddler on the Roof.
