The play was a finalist for the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, along with The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity by Kristoffer Diaz and In the Next Room or the vibrator play by Sarah Ruhl. Moisés Kaufman and his cast and creative team from the earlier CTG Kirk Douglas Theatre run have returned for this engagement. The cast features (in alphabetical order) Glenn Davis, Brad Fleischer, Arian Moayed, Kevin Tighe, Hrach Titizian, Sheila Vand and Necar Zadegan.
In Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, according to CTG notes, "the lives and, in some cases, the afterlives, of two American soldiers, an Iraqi translator, the ghosts of Saddam Hussein's sons Uday and Ousay, and a Bengal tiger all intersect in a surreal, darkly humorous and gently balanced view of war and its aftermath."
The creative team includes set designer Derek McLane, costume designer David Zinn, lighting designer David Lander, sound designer Cricket S. Myers and composer Kathryn Bostic. Casting is by Bonnie Grisan, and the production stage manager is David S. Franklin.
