Three-time Tony nominee Alfred Molina will perform Signature Legacy Resident Will Eno's Title and Deed December 1 at 7 PM in the Griffin Theatre as a benefit for Off-Broadway's Signature Theatre.
The evening will be directed by Signature Trustee and Resident (via The Mad Ones) Lila Neugebauer.
Title and Deed made its world premiere at Signature in 2012 featuring Conor Lovett, directed by Judy Hegarty Lovett, and developed by Eno. Title and Deed was also the first work in Eno’s Signature Residency, followed by The Open House (2014) and Wakey, Wakey (2017), and prior to his return for the revival of his Pulitzer Prize finalist play Thom Pain (based on nothing) in 2018.
Signature Theatre Artistic Director Emily Shooltz said in a statement, “Will had such a close partnership and deep relationship with Signature founder Jim Houghton—whom he credits with planting seeds that have bloomed in his career. Title and Deed was one of the first plays performed in the Pershing Square Signature Center. It’s been deeply moving and gratifying for me, since I joined the organization, to connect with Legacy Residents, and to feel their support and passion for the mission here. As we launch our 35th anniversary season, Title and Deed seemed like the perfect way to showcase what a rich body of Legacy work there is here, and how inspirational the Legacy playwrights are to artists we’re engaging now.”
Molina received Tony nominations for his work in Art, Fiddler on the Roof, and Red. He is currently shooting the Duffer Brothers’ series The Boroughs for Netflix. He also starred as Chief Inspector Armand Gamache in Three Pines, a Canadian mystery streaming series for Amazon Prime Video. Molina was recently seen reprising his role as Dr. Otto Octavius in Spiderman: No Way Home, starring alongside Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Marisa Tomei. His additional stage and screen credits are numerous.
Tickets for the benefit evening are on sale here.
