A public reading of Better Days: A New Musical will be presented August 7 at 7 PM at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Renberg Theatre.

Directed by Kenneth Ferrone with music direction by Gregory Nabours, the company will include Emma Hunton (Wicked) as Brooke, Alex Boniello (Dear Evan Hansen) as Brandon, Scott Porter (Ginny & Georgia) as Tommy, Cheyenne Isabel Wells (Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies) as Ellie, Matthew Scott Montgomery (Jane the Virgin) as Derby, Chris Renfro (Oh, Mary!) as Noah, Sterling Sulieman (Scrambled) as Byrd, Lana McKissack (A Christmas Movie Christmas) as Shay, and Michael Scott Harris (Phantom of the Opera) as Coach.

Better Days, which features music and lyrics by Brian Logan Dales and Emily Wright and a book by Eric Garcia, is set in a dusty Arizona bar over the course of three Blackout Wednesdays across 10 years, concerning old friends, unresolved feelings, and the gravity of coming home.

Better Days is co-presented by After Hours Theatre Company/Graham Wetterhahn and the LA LGBT Center. The reading will benefit the Center.
