News A "Mid-Life Crisis Musical" Will Grow Off-Broadway The joys and tribulations of middle age are examined in Happy 50ish!, a "mid-life crisis musical comedy" set to bow Off-Broadway starting July 15 at The Beckett Theatre.

Written by Lynn Shore, Mark Vogel and David Burnham, and directed and choreographed by Paul Stancato, Happy 50ish! is scheduled to open July 26 and run through Aug. 30. Shore and Vogel comprise the cast.

The show is set at the surprise birthday party for the main character, Bob. The story is described thus: "As he turns the big five-0, he learns to laugh and make fun of all the things that inevitably come with age. He's arrived early for his party, his wife is running late, and there's a backyard full of party guests. While reading his birthday cards aloud, he learns that turning 50 magnifies the unintended and hilarious realities of middle age."
