Off-Broadway News A Jewish Woman Time Travels to Stop Jared Kushner in Stephanie Swirsky's Don't Do This to Us!; World Premiere Set For The Tank

The play from the but you're okay playwright centers on rising anti-Semitism in the United States.

The Tank will stage the world premiere of Stephanie Swirsky's Don’t Do This To Us!. The production, co-produced by Swirsky, will be directed by Tasha Gordon-Solmon (The Karpovsky Variation). The work will run August 12–28.

The new work follows a Jewish woman named Rachel as she grapples with growing anti-Semitism in the United States and across the globe. To cope, she blames Jared Kushner, husband of Ivanka Trump, for his embodying the worst Jewish stereotypes on the public stage. She devises a plan to travel back to 1999 to prevent him from ever ascending to public life, and things quickly go off the rails.

The cast will include Rivka Borek (The Karpovsky Variation) as Ravit, Grant Harrison (The Tick) as Jared Kushner, Chanel Karimkhani (The Hello Girls) as Jodi, Mara Kassin (Grandma's Not a Toaster) as Rachel, Lilli Stein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Shira, and Alex Trow (Straight) as Elisheva.

The production will also feature scenic design by Ant Ma, costume design by Stefanie Genda, lighting design by Ebony M. Burton, and sound design by Hannah Birch Carl. Julie Cai is production stage manager.
