CBS Entertainment announced on June 26 that the Emmy Award winner ("Pushing Daisies"), who also won a Tony for You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (and was nominated for playing Glinda in Wicked), will make her debut in the series with its fourth-season premiere in September.
"Chenoweth will match wits with both Alicia and Peter [played by Chris Noth] in her role as a top-of-her-game political reporter who wants to know more about the Florrick campaign and marriage," according to CBS. The series shoots in New York City.
Chenoweth won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the series "Pushing Daisies," and has appeared in the comedy "Glee," for which she received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. She is wrapping up the spring leg of her North American concert tour (now to June 29). The concert includes show music, pop songs and numbers from her new album "Some Lessons Learned." "The Good Wife" stars Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Julianna Margulies as lawyer Alicia Florrick. The series was nominated for nine 2011 Primetime Emmy nominations, the most for a broadcast network series.
"The Good Wife" airs Sundays (9-10 PM, ET) on CBS. Check local listing for channel and time in your area.
