Susan Pourfar, recently seen Off-Broadway in NYTW's acclaimed production of Mary Jane, will be one of five actors to play the title role in the New York premiere of Tracy Letts' Mary Page Marlowe at Second Stage Theater this summer. She joins recently announced Emmy Award winner Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), who will also star in the title role.
The remaining three actors to play Mary, as well as additional casting and creative team members, will be announced at a later date.

As previously announced, the Off-Broadway premiere of Mary Page Marlowe will be directed by Obie- and Drama Desk Award-winning director Lila Neugebauer (The Wolves, Edward Albee's At Home at the Zoo). Performances are scheduled to begin June 19 in 2ST’s Tony Kiser Theater ahead of a July 12 opening night.
Mary Page Marlowe pieces together a portrait of a woman from key moments in her life, with the title role shared among a number actors. The play received its world premiere at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre in 2016 with direction by Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro; the production featured a 21-member cast including seven actors who shared the title role.
Pourfar's Off-Broadway credits also include Tribes at the Barrow Street Theatre, When the Rain Stops Falling at Lincoln Center Theater, and Women or Nothing at Atlantic Theater Company. She has appeared in the television series The Sinner, House of Cards, Mr. Robot, and Scandal, among others. Her film credits include Manchester by the Sea, Christine, Irrational Man, Alex of Venice, and Emelie.
As previously announced, Second Stage Theater will produce both on and Off-Broadway in the 2017–18 season. The theatre’s inaugural Broadway season will kick off March 1 with Oscar winner Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero starring Chris Evans and Michael Cera.
