Tony Award-winning Miss Saigon and Once On This Island star Lea Salonga has rescheduled U.K. dates for her upcoming Human Heart tour due to a broken leg sustained during a recent skiing trip in Japan.
The international concert tour was slated to launch February 8 at the Hong Kong Cultural Center with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, followed by dates in Singapore—both of which have been canceled while Salonga recovers.
The U.K. portion of the tour, which was to begin February 26 at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester with dates to follow at the London Palladium, have been rescheduled for this summer. New dates will also include an added matinee at the Palladium to meet ticket demand.
Salonga’s U.S. tour dates have not been affected and will begin April 5 at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
New U.K. dates follow: July 7, Cardiff (Wales Millennium Centre); July 10, Nottingham (Royal Concert Hall); July 11, Birmingham (Symphony Hall); July 13, Manchester (The Opera House); July 18, York (Barbican); July 21, London (The Palladium—matinee and evening).
“I want to thank all the friends and fans for your supportive and encouraging messages since my fall on the slopes,” Salonga said in a statement. “I’ll be at home resting and healing for the next few weeks but I can’t wait to get back to the UK and see you all this summer! I’m so grateful to everyone who has made quickly rescheduling my first U.K. tour possible!”
