Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth and Frozen Tony nominee Patti Murin have signed on to star in separate made-for-television movies premiering on the Hallmark Channel this holiday season.
In The Christmas Song, Chenoweth will play a youth choir director trying to write a big song for the annual Christmas Eve concert. Inspiration comes when a new student (Kevin Quinn), who is gifted with a remarkable voice, joins her choir. Scott Wolf will play the boy’s widowed father.
Murin will co-star with Melissa Claire Egan and Marc Blucas in Holiday for Heroes, slated for Hallmark’s Movies & Mysteries channel. The story centers on a soldier and a woman who exchange letters for a year before their worlds collide.
Country singer Blake Shelton, who executive-produced last season’s Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas—inspired by his own life story—is developing his second feature for the 2019 holiday season. The untitled film will premiere in November, featuring songs by Shelton, but with all-new characters.
